Satish Kaushik was completely healthy
According to the E Times report, Rumi said that she had received the news of Satish’s death on Thursday morning. After this, he along with his wife went to Satish’s house to take care of his wife Shashi and daughter Vanshika in this hour of grief. Rumi said, “My wife is very attached to Vanshika. She just clung to the baby and sat silently. We cannot believe this news.” The filmmaker said that Satish was completely healthy and was also in high spirits. Satish wanted to live to settle his daughter in life
Rumi said, “Satish and I were friends for more than 30 years. This sudden departure is very unfair and it was not that he was not taking care of his health. He was eating on time and eating right. He used to go for morning walk. He wanted to live long enough to see his daughter settle down in life. But God had other plans.”
Satish Kaushik was traveling too much
Rumi further added, “Just a day ago Satish was dancing at Javed’s (Akhtar) sahab’s Holi bash. I think he was traveling a lot. Aaj here, kaal there. When he told me that he was a friend I warned him against traveling so much. But he silenced me saying it was a commitment to a friend. How did we know this would be his last trip?
Rumi remembers her first meeting with Satish
Rumi Jafri also recalled her first meeting with Satish Kaushik. Both met on the sets of ‘Mr India’. This was the time when he had come to Mumbai from his hometown Bhopal for a holiday. During that time he was in a dilemma about starting his career in the Hindi film industry. He wanted to see the shooting of a film and reached the sets of Mr. India. This film immortalized Satish as a calendar. This was the moment when Rumi convinced Satish that he wanted to be a part of the film industry.
